The biggest thing to happen to the status update since Facebook dropped the ‘is’, uLocate have launched a friend finding service that lets you know where your friends are and what they are doing via your mobile phone.

If CCTV still has you screaming ‘Big Brother’ or Facebook acquaintances seem a little stalkerati you may want to steer clear of the GPS cell phone and location-enabled friend-finding service Buddy Beacon 2.0.

Somewhat of an Orwellian nightmare, the mobile Twitter-esque service offers the world’s first cross-carrier service of its type and enables users of phones such as the Apple iPhone to update their location and status on online social networks like Facebook, where it has unveiled a same name application.

If you want to learn more visit there site here, but be careful, they’re watching.

Don’t be scared too much. Buddy Beacon is not a tracking application. It only updates your location when you tell it to do so.
