Like good little corporate bloggers we’ve brought you regular updates on the rumored UIQ smartphones from Sony Ericsson - the G702 BeiBei and the P5i Paris but now the phones have been shelved permenantly.

Reasons for the decision are unclear with some suggesting the P5 Paris was uncompetitive and already outdated before release and the BeiBei’s axing may relate to marketing issues but SE fans will no doubt be disappointed at the news.

If you want a WiFi, GPS smartphone from Sony Ericsson it may now just be a nail-biting wait for the XPERIA X1.
