Even we are impressed with this! With the Apple iPhone 3G S’s new graphics chipped and beefier processor it does more than just increase loading time of web pages, it also opens up what can be done with gaming on the device.

The video below is from ZodTTD and it is the emulator psx4iphone of the classic Playstation 1 with the even more classic Final Fantasy VII running on the iPhone 3G S . They claim the game is running at full frame rate. We can’t get too excited yet though, as the emulator is in very early stages of development. The video isn’t on mute, the emulator just doesn’t have any sound yet. Also if you’re wanting to get access now you’ll have to contact ZodTTD directly for a custom build of the emulator as this is by no means an approved app and we still don’t have a jailbreak for the 3G S yet.

This isn’t something that will make it past the Gargoyles who guard the Apple iTunes store, so we’ll have to wait until those saints at the Dev-Team blog come up with a jailbreak for the 3G S, before we start getting our Final Fantasy VII or OG Tony Hawk Pro Skater on.

Is this a chance to re-waste those hundreds of hours I spent trying to boost my hit points and figure out the most badass names for my mages? With any luck, Yes!
