Nokia Gives Hints to New Touch Screen Model
It’s hard not to feel the effects of the iPhone everywhere. It’s even harder if you’re a mobile manufacturer trying to keep up with the amazing dent it has put into the mobile smartphone market. However if you’re Nokia you’ve most likely have your team of resident geniuses working on a defense strategy.
With the recent announcement of the N97 many folks out there are still drooling over the possibilities of that sleek, QWERTY keyboard phone, but the cynics amongst us are still wondering if keys are just a thing of the past and we all have to get on the touch screen train.
As usual Nokia has failed to disappoint. Unfortunately details are limited to the picture above that was taken from a presentation at Nokia’s Capital Market Day 2008, but these presentations are usually meant to entice investors into sinking some dough into new projects.
The picture shows an edge-to-edge fully touchscreen interface, smart widgets, multiple home screens and integrated services.
The actual announcement of any phone using this interface or model has yet to come, but we can have some faith in Nokia for being able to consistently produce some quality products. Hopefully we’ll be seeing a few more solid details on these developments soon.
Do you think that Nokia is going to be able to compete on the full touch, smart phone market?
