Have you been looking for a better way to creep out that girl you’ve been crushing on for the last few months? How about a KissPhone from PROInvention?
Inventor Georges Koussouros has put a basic rundown of an idea he has for transmitting kisses over mobile phone connections. The picture you see above is not a joke, but the actual design of the phone. The way it work is you kiss the lips on the device, it measures pressure, length, temperature and other factors and then transmits this over a data connection to another phone which will replicate that kiss on the artificial lips.
So now you can save those extra special kisses in your inbox for when you need them most. Koussorous also wants to develop a “kiss bank” where he’ll have archived kisses from different celebrities. His example sited is Madonna, but we’re going to advise him differently on that one.
So do you want to kiss a robot and then have that robot replicate that kiss for someone else? Try the kiss phone! We don’t have any details on commercial releases of the phone, but we’ll keep you updated.

Concept phones are one of our favorite subjects around here. We can imagine about complete touch screen devices, 4G connectivity and a device that can fold our laundry. Well maybe not that far, but we can dream can’t we.
A recent concept design that has caught our eye is the design pictured above. The design, based on the Macbook Air, slims down the Apple iPhone and boasts what people are touting as 4G connectivity. What this would mean is streaming video conferencing right on your phone. Fun for communicating, it may be a bit damaging to your data plan though.
The design features the streamlined tapered design and puts a camera on the face of the phone. The picture also implies that video conferencing would be functional with other applications running simultaneously which would definitely make the concept a good one.
Another hurdle which would have to be overcome is the cross platform functionality. If you wanted to chat with users on a PC for example, the iChat would either have to be available for PCs or the video chat would have to be compatible with already cross platform programs like Skype.
In any case, we dream and we dream, but we will see what the future brings. Have you seen any cool concept phones that we’ve missed out on? Let us know.

Over the last few years the internet has been making its way into most mobile phones. Our mobile online experience has been evolving rapidly and what we can do now what we couldn’t do 4 years ago is beyond what many people thought possible. Phones such as the HTC Max 4G are hoping to increase the speed available to mobile users as well.
Despite all of these advances there has been one feature which has been lacking and keeping us from the full internet experience and that is a Flash Player. Hopefully this will soon be rectified as it was announced by Adobe at the Adobe MAX developer conference that a working demo of Flash Player 10 will be up on a Windows Mobile device very soon. Unfortunately this won’t be commercially available until late next year. Windows Mobile’s adopting of the first mobile Flash Player is a natural extension of their Flash Lite player which has been available for some time now.
Adobe has indicated that they are also interested in working with Apple for the iPhone 3G, but not much progress has been made. Apple maintains that Flash takes up a bit too much room in the memory department and that it runs too much strain on the iPhone’s ARM11 processors.
While Apple seems to be dillydallying the new kid on the block, the Android OS, is starting to make headway. With people from all over the world developing software for this OS, it is no surprise that a demo of the Flash Player running on the HTC G1 was already running at the developer conference. If this Flash Player makes it to an Android device this may be the push it needs to make it into the dominating mobile OS as it will be able to give more rich browsing experience.
Who do you think is going to make it first? Will this have any affect on the type of phone you buy? Let us know.

Chi Shing Lo has won the yearly D&AD Student Award at De Montfort University for his concept phone that does away with viewfinders and chargers.
The Hole concept phone uses the ‘hole’ for win purposes, as a replacement for the traditional viewfinder and for inductive charging technology for data transfer.
The concept design is gorgeous, makes photos a snap and charging wireless - what more do your want?

Long at the forefront of
wacky gadgets, the Frontier Technology Research Group latest development project focuses on key-less gadgets that are controlled entirely by eye movement.
The research group for NTT DoCoMo is using a technique that allows he wearable head-mounted device to recognize electrical signals generated by eye movement to operate features such as track skipping, music volume and to ‘tell’ the camera where to focus.
While few of us would want this early prototype with us as we sashay around the Village no doubt we can expect this technology to come together in a way that will see eye-capture technology a boon for everyone, not just the motion impaired.

Nokia are never shy about showing off the sort of clout that has made them the world’s leading phone manufacturer, first there was the
morph, now enter the ShapeShift concept phone.
The futuristic design uses a combination of 2 plastic layers, one of these layers is a flexible one, while the second is a hard material and between the two is a liquid.
The liquid moves between the layers to create buttons - creating a fluid move between one mode and the next for user interaction.
Weighing in at 125 grams and a girth of only 110 x 55 x 12 millimeters, the Shape Shift concept is an interesting solution to an age old problem and hopefully a little sprinkle of this genius will enter into everyday phones soon.

WiFi symbol so that we can get that much need email off. Now thanks to Nike you can let your feet do the looking for you with their new “A Step in the Right Direction” prototype shoes.
The ASITRD shoes alert users when a WiFi signal is within 540 meters by flashing an in-built LED.
Wearable technology maybe but flashing LED lights on your feet? How practical is this exactly?

You dont have to be an
Apple fanboy to shout from the rooftops that the future is touchscreen but the Intuit Concept phone takes things a step further.
The would-be phone features 5 mp of photog power as well as full touchscreen and secondary screen - excuse me did you say secondary screen - yes sir - its just that unbelievable it warrants an internal monologue.
Cause we can all put pen to paper and create a Escherian wishlist of mobile computing contractions but alas tis beauty shall remain a bloggers delight for now…
