Sausage iPhone stylus now available in the US

sausage.JPG

Who ever thought about using a sausage to operate iPhone’s capacitive touchscreen with gloves on? Apparently, people tend to come up with the weirdest, oftentimes humorous way to attract consumers to purchase their products. We did hear about this sausage stylus about a month ago and it was only available in South Korea back then. Who would have known that such gear would have made it to the US? The product comes with a “not for consumption” label for your safety and will be compatible with any phone receptive to capacitive touch aside from iPhone plus it can be yours for a very low price of only $0.99.

A new technology that allows mobile phones to read lips

silent.JPG

Have you ever thought that being able to talk on your cellphone by simply moving your lips or talking silently could even be possible someday? Well it might just be, maybe even sooner than we thought possible. Unveiled by Professor Tanja Shultz at German electronics fair Cebit, a device has been developed which can record what a person is saying, even if it is inaudible by measuring tiny electrical signals produced by the muscles involved in speech and then generate the thought using synthesized voice. It even automatically translates one language into another language making it an instant translation system. The device uses electromyography, which is more usually used to diagnose nerve damage, and currently requires nine electrodes to be stuck to the user’s face. Doesn’t sound good? Maybe it doesn’t but inventions have to start somewhere and it improves as it progresses over time. Furthermore, this invention will benefit those who have lost their voices through illness or accidents to speak through a cellphone or a computer.

It works by predicting third of words without a button being pressed and and nearly 85% of words within two characters pressed according to TouchType CEO, Jonathan Reynolds. It also features an auto correct on spelling and errors that decreases high input error rates made on small mobile keyboards and QWERTY keyboards. This text prediction app works with any Smartphones or Android models.

Vibrating Bluetooth bracelet avoids missed calls

bluetooth.JPG

If you are always missing calls because you can barely notice the loud ringtone or vibration on your phone when inside your bag or pocket then it’s time you consider a Vibrating Bluetooth bracelet. How about the BluAlert Vibrating Bluetooth Wristband which was developed by a company in Japan called Thanko’s? It sports a slender LCD panel time display and because you wear it on your wrist you can easily feel the vibration when there is an incoming call. Furthermore, the caller’s number is also displayed when you get a call to save you the trouble of fishing out your phone inside your pocket or bag then realizing it’s someone you want to avoid talking to. It comes in two versions: the one without the LCD but with an LED which costs about $33, and the one with an LCD panel which costs around $44. Too bad it doesn’t come with a mic to complete the look of a secret spy we see on films.

Recharge your phone using a solar panel and your dog

solar-dog.JPG

A guy from Switzerland named Erik Schiegg has come up with an environmentally friendly way of recharging his mobile phone by combining his passions, saving the mother earth, inventions and dogs. He starts by attaching a solar panel on his dog’s “weather protection” suit and before he knows it his Android phone has been completely charged in no time. This “Solar dog” charger even works in cloudy weather conditions and the best thing about it is that it only costs him $60. He even pictures farmers who will benefit from his invention by attaching the solar panels on their farm animals to collect electricity.Seems weird but it might actually work out.

Cellphone razor courtesy of Japanese

cellphonerazor-thumb-460x345-30539.jpg

Leave it to the Japanese when it comes to creating out-of-this-world inventions because who else would have thought about combining a razor and a cellphone into one? After all, it’s pretty annoying when you are on your way to work or worse on a date and suddenly you realized that you missed a spot shaving and it makes you conscious about that little patch of hair on your neck all throughout the day. The only question now would be what other feature will this phone come with? Does it have a camera or even a micro SD slot? But then again, knowing that you’ll never feel awkward again with that missed spot might really prove this phone to be handy and worth it after all.

metrotextual.JPG

Metrotextual; a new word that has been created referring to men who shows affection openly by including a “kiss” at the end of every text message sent to male friends alike. Based on the new research, 22% of men will regularly include a “kiss” on text messages to their male buddies. And this is commonly seen on men ages 18-24 and 48% admitted that this has become somewhat a common thing among male groups of friends. Yet the most awkward fact is even men over the age of 55 also end seal their text message to a male friend with a kiss. Another one of those weird things mobile phones do to people. Is it just me or this sounds really creepy.
