Finally! the highly anticipated Nokia E72 has finally started shipping. Although the handset’s release date was about 2 months late, it didn’t dampen the spirits of it’s fans who waited patiently to get their hands on this beauty. The Nokia E72 has a QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera, an optical navigation key that acts like a trackpad, an electronic compass that enhances the GPS navigation experience and a faster HSDPA of up to 10 Mbps. Despite all these added feature, the phone has retained it’s slim body. The Nokia E72 will be available in Zodium Black, Metal Grey and Topaz Brown and tentatively priced at 350 euro.

Initially, there were only 2 colors available for the Nokia N97 mini. These two color versions are Cherry Black and Garnet. But just after a few days of being out in the market, a new color has been added to the collection, it’s the white version that reminds me of winter and a perfect timing for upcoming holiday season. All features remain the same with the regular N97 except the N97 mini only has 8GB of internal memory whereas the regular one packs 32GB memory, but nonetheless you still get the same 3.2″ resistive touchscreen, slide out full QWERTY keyboard and a 5 megapixel camera. As awkward as it may seem, the N97 mini costs more than it’s more capable big brother.

According to the rumor, Nokia X6 is set to be released on November 12 for a retail price of $875. Pretty pricey yet taking into consideration that the handset is the most technologically advanced all-about-music cell phone of one of the the world´s largest cellphone manufacturer, and with 32GB built-in memory plus a one-year subscription for Comes With Music, I think it’s relatively fair. Some other features include a 3.2-inch capacitive display, 5-megapixel camera with flash, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm jack and a radio that doesn’t require headphones. All these sound absolutely thrilling yet still not yet official so let’s keep our fingers crossed, shall we?

Nokia, being one of the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world and one of the pioneers, own a lot of technology patents that other companies have to pay in order for them to be able to use this technology. When Apple announced the iPhone in 2007, Apple have used some of Nokia’s GSM, UMTS and WLAN patented technologies in all their iPhones but refused to pay any fees. This is why today, Nokia announced that it is going to sue Apple for infringement of its patents with Apple’s iPhones. If this is true, Apple is in serious trouble.

A very futuristic Nokia concept phone named Nokia CORE is based from the idea and concept of the movie Star Wars which we gotta admit looks pretty neat. Feature wise, its best aspect is the interface and the phone was entirely designed around it and the style of this phone resembles a solar system. The phone itself is user-friendly having sports soft touch concavity on each side and the shape allows for a better grip. The most amazing thing about this phone is that its interface and content can be transferred to a computer using either WiFi or Bluetooth. After the transfer is made the phone will then turn into the mouse of the computer and it will control the device via its UI. At the backside of the phone is a camera lens and of course the mouse buttons both are well hidden. The product seems too unrealistic and is not yet official, I doubt if it will ever be.
