You would be forgiven for thinking this latest attempt at green technology had just escaped from 80’s teen flick Weird Science, but alas the movement powered device heralds technology of the future, apparently.

The Atlas Kinetic Cellphone operates on the same technology most consumers are more familiar with from Kinetic watches, namely it is powered by the use of “oscillating weight to power a mainspring.” Put plainly: if you walk the walk, you can talk the talk.

With Nokia having recently announced a recycled phone and recent news of portable solar chargers, green is the new buzzword in the blogosphere and this is sure to set tongues wagging.

While you may never have to worry about remembering to charge your phone, you may want to consider using your spare time typing code into your computer to create the perfect woman that will respond to your every whim. Oh wait.
