A new product has been developed by a London based company TouchType called Swiftkey helps Android phone users to increase their typing speed by up to 50% on their phone’s virtual QWERTY keyboard. It works by predicting third of words without a button being pressed and and nearly 85% of words within two characters pressed according to TouchType CEO, Jonathan Reynolds. It also features an auto correct on spelling and errors that decreases high input error rates made on small mobile keyboards and QWERTY keyboards. This text prediction app works with any Smartphones or Android models.

Another one of those wristwatch phone has been released by none other than LG and it is the first ever to feature a 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA compatibility for high-speed video phone calls. Unlike the previous releases this one has made video calling possible with the use of its built-in camera. It is only 13.9mm thick and features a a curved tempered glass face and high quality metal casing that makes it comfortable to wear and as a bonus it also comes with a Bluetooth headset. The only unappealing part I guess is the price that converts to approximately $1000 which is a bit pricey that can make people think twice of getting it rather than a high-end smartphone if not for its uniqueness and stylishness.

It is not surprising to hear news when a new app has been developed nor if there’s a rumor about an upcoming phone. But every now and then there are unique cellphone news that pops up that are oftentimes weird but still fascinating just like this new app for the HTC HD2. Developed by one of the members from xda-developers this app will transform your Smartphone into a metal detecting device. The app makes use of the HTC HD2’s built-in compass and to begin, you have to place the HTC HD2 on a flat surface, start the app, test with any metal (scissors, coin etc) to make sure it’s working. Once everything is set, you may begin and enjoy the treasure hunting.

If you are always missing calls because you can barely notice the loud ringtone or vibration on your phone when inside your bag or pocket then it’s time you consider a Vibrating Bluetooth bracelet. How about the BluAlert Vibrating Bluetooth Wristband which was developed by a company in Japan called Thanko’s? It sports a slender LCD panel time display and because you wear it on your wrist you can easily feel the vibration when there is an incoming call. Furthermore, the caller’s number is also displayed when you get a call to save you the trouble of fishing out your phone inside your pocket or bag then realizing it’s someone you want to avoid talking to. It comes in two versions: the one without the LCD but with an LED which costs about $33, and the one with an LCD panel which costs around $44. Too bad it doesn’t come with a mic to complete the look of a secret spy we see on films.

There is no doubt that HTC T8585 HD2 Leo has been a huge hit and is currently still raking up sales from all over the globe but even with its blistering performance and features it just won’t work with some people because of its bulky size. If you are among these people then its newly announced little brother, the HTC HD mini might just be what you are looking for. It packs just as much of a punch as the HD2 Leo except for the huge touchscreen of its predecessor- the HTC HD2 Leo which boasts of a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, this time the HTC HD mini only offers a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display. With the HTC HD mini one can still expect to get a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, microSD card slot, 3G data connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a slew of sensors (ambient light, accelerometer, proximity sensor) and will still run on Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. If you love the HD2 Leo but want something in a compact form-factor then you’ll probably love the HD mini. Watch out for this baby as it is soon to be released in Asia and Europe this coming April but with no information on pricing at the moment

With an iPhone, you can practically do almost anything because of the variety of apps to choose from which are sometimes very useful and other times just plain weird or a combination of both just like this new app called the “R U Drunk” iPhone App. It basically works by allowing you to detect if a person is really drunk or not by means of series of tests like walking on a straight line and all others. This app can be pretty useful and for only $3 USD, car accidents can be avoided that is if a person is not too stubborn to admit the result of the “R U Drunk” iPhone App test seriously.
