Blackberry fanatics became ecstatic after having read the message that was posted on Blackberry’s official Facebook account earlier today. The message says ” The Blackberry Tour 9650 is coming! Check back soon for official news!” but then the message has been deleted right afterwards. Nevertheless, a rumor is a rumor and as expected, it spread like wildfire all over the internet. The Blackberry 9650 will pretty much be the same as the Blackberry Tour 9630 except for the added features such as WiFi and a trackpad. Although no official date was mentioned yet, it is expected to come out during the 1st quarter of 2010.

A new concept phone called the Moto Twirl Phone has been developed by Motorola and released on 2008. This out-of-the-box concept that was designed by Joseph Liagn is shaped like the adorable Android character we are all familiar with. Just like what you would expect from a toy phone, it features a small display yet the phone itself looks too bulky and blocky. However, the unusual thing about this concept phone is that its bottom panel can be separated/inserted at its upper part which makes the phone smaller by half of its size when the two parts are joined together. The keypad of the phone also looks sophisticated with its ability to work as a navigation device as well. No specific features were mentioned yet for this Motorola concept phone but who knows? it might just be a hit because of its Kawaii look.

There have been rumors spreading that Nokia is planning to release a 16GB version of the Nokia X6 that is said to come in more colors than the 32GB version. These colors are; all black, pink on white, and blue on white. Most importantly, the features of the existing Nokia X6 32GB will be retained except of course for the lower memory capacity, other than that you can still expect to get 360 x 640 capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 5-megapixel camera for a reduced priced of around $500. Although still unofficial, it is likely that it will be released in time for Valentine’s day and would make a perfect gift for that special someone.

Dan Woodley, an American filmmaker has luckily survived after being trapped under debris during the Haiti earthquake on January 12. He used his iPhone’s first aid app to treat a compound fracture of his leg by making an improvised tourniquet as well as a bandage to stop the bleeding from his head wound. The iPhone app also warned him not to fall asleep after a head trauma and he used his iPhone’s alarm to make sure he wakes up every 20 minutes in case he dozed off. Finally, Woodley was rescued after a grueling 65 hours of agony and despair with nothing but his strong faith in God, a strong will to survive for his family and his iPhone to keep him company. Woodley said that the iPhone was God’s instrument to help him survive and he is just so grateful to be given another chance to spend his life with his family.

Sticking to a diet is not always as easy as it seems especially when you have no idea how much calories you are consuming. Fortunately, you can now find out how much calorie a product contains and its nutritional information with the help of the Quikka iPhone app. The app incorporates a bar code reader that makes use of your iPhone’s camera to scan a product and will automatically determine its nutritional information for you. Quikka iPhone app might really prove to be effective for people who are trying to lose weight because it gives you control over your calorie intake, no more guessing. In my opinion, this app is essential in aiding you through a safe diet routine and help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Still, at the end of the day maintaining your diet is all up to you. Knowing how good a pint of ice cream sounds and how dreadful the calorie content your Quikka iPhone app flashes before your eyes upon scanning it, it’s all about discipline and making the right choice.
