Pre-paid mobile phones banned in Kashmir due to cases of bombings

kashmir.JPG

Due to reported cases of bombings in Kashmir , India has issued an order to ban all pre-paid mobile phones in Kashmir. Although many people might get furious, it’s for the safety of all that this has to be implemented due to militants taking advantage of these phones to use for triggering bombs. In 2003, pre-paid mobile phones are linked to attacks since it’s easily acquired compared to post-paid handsets which would require more paper works and identity checks before being able get one. Hopefully, other countries who experience these kinds of terrorist attacks consider this as a solution to finally put an end to this.

Volkswageon, to be entirely dependent on iPhone app for GTI Launch

gti.JPG

Apple scores again for getting one of the biggest names in vehicle industry today, Volkswagen. It will be launching its newest-generation GTI exclusively on an iPhone game app. Users are then obliged to find this app called the Real Racing GTI and have it downloaded. A good marketing strategy should we say? Meanwhile, in terms of how much Volkswagen spent for this is not much of a difference at all, as compared to their 2006 GTI that ended up costing $60 million. Although this idea might sound somewhat limited, Apple reported in September that there are over 50 million Apple iPod touch and iPhone users worldwide. We’ll see how this turns out or if this will even become a hit.

Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, now an iPhone game

pet_sematary-pic-to-use.jpg

A new iPhone game has been introduced just in time for Halloween. This game is based on the Stephen King movie who is a creator of creepy and sometimes weird scary films, one of which is the Pet Semetary. This game uses the tap-to-kill model to obliterate zombie dogs, cats and even children. As with other games, innocent bystanders are around and should be avoided. If killed, points will be deducted so beware. This cool iPhone game is for sale for only 99 cents.

Bath-o-Matic iPhone app, let’s you control water level and temperature using your iPhone

iphone.JPG

If you are the type of person who overcomes stress with a hot bubble bath (especially if you’re the type who falls asleep during the bath) this iPhone app will be your best buddy. It’s called the Bath-o-Matic. It lets you control the water level of the tub and the temperature as well using your iPhone. Fred Vasilev, the brain behind it proves yet again that there really is an app for everything. Unfortunately, this only applies to those who have a “high-tech” type of bath at home otherwise this will not work for you.

Motorola Aura Diamond edition, another luxury phone

motorola1.JPG

Luxury phone have started to reappear again which proves that recession has gradually ceased and the economy is finally getting back on track once more. Right after the announcement of Mobiado 350 Pioneer comes the Motorola Aura Diamond edition and boy is it expensive? Sure it has about 30 diamonds on it and the phone itself is coated with 18 carat gold. But for £3,500, or about $5,700? I think it is too overpriced. This phone goes on sale starting today but will only be available in UK, at least for now.

Old rotary phones, modified to function as an iPod dock

rotary.JPG

Ever wondered what to do with old, useless rotary phones that might still be left lying around on the attic? With a bit of imagination and a dash of creativity, you can turn this garbage into a stylish iPod dock. The phone has been modified to accomodate iPods and the handset’s ear and mouthpiece act as the speaker while the handset’s cradle is now where the dock is located. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet if this will have a version created that can also accomodate mobile phones like an iPhone or any music cell phones in the future. But nothing seems too impossible nowadays, don’t you think?

Nokia, to sue Apple for infringement of its Intellectual properties

nokia-vs-apple.JPG

Nokia, being one of the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world and one of the pioneers, own a lot of technology patents that other companies have to pay in order for them to be able to use this technology. When Apple announced the iPhone in 2007, Apple have used some of Nokia’s GSM, UMTS and WLAN patented technologies in all their iPhones but refused to pay any fees. This is why today, Nokia announced that it is going to sue Apple for infringement of its patents with Apple’s iPhones. If this is true, Apple is in serious trouble.

iVIP, an iPhone app made exclusively for millionaires

ivip.JPG

Now here’s something you probably haven’t yet seen before. iPhone seems to be really taking their statement “there’s an app for everything.” very seriously with an app that is made for rich individuals who own an iPhone, the iVIP. This app allows it’s user to to gain access to an exclusive network of privileges and benefits and range of luxuries available in different establishments like cinemas, restaurants, bars and the likes. To make sure that it is restricted and will be put to good use, a person has to complete a High Net Worth Individual Certification before being able to download the app. To top it all, the app costs $999.99 to download, a price that only millionaires can willingly let go for just an iPhone app.

Nokia CORE concept phone doubles up as a computer mouse

nokia1.JPG

A very futuristic  Nokia concept phone named Nokia CORE is based from the idea and concept of the movie Star Wars which we gotta admit looks pretty neat. Feature wise, its best aspect is the interface and the phone was entirely designed around it and the style of this phone resembles a solar system. The phone itself is user-friendly having sports soft touch concavity on each side and the shape allows for a better grip. The most amazing thing about this phone is that its interface and content can be transferred to a computer using either WiFi or Bluetooth. After the transfer is made the phone will then turn into the mouse of the computer and it will control the device via its UI. At the backside of the phone is a camera lens and of course the mouse buttons both are well hidden. The product  seems too unrealistic and is not yet official, I doubt if it will ever be.

Finally, Image of the Blackberry inPulse, captured

bb.JPG

Rumors  began circulating not too long ago regarding a bluetooth enabled BlackBerry watch that gives its users the ability to preview messages and e-mails, caller’s name display and more without  having to fumble through pockets and handbags to get the phone out. This Blackberry watch is named the inPulse is not made to function exactly as a phone but it helps people that are in a situation when they cannot just answer calls or messages. If for example you are busy doing something and there is a text message, you may navigate and read it from your blackberry watch and you can decide if it’s something urgent that you have to reply on then you have to get your Blackberry phone to do that. The phone has to be kept within the bluetooth range. Unlike LG’s GD910, the watch cannot function independently and does not replace your phone or make or take calls. It merely alerts you to messages or emails that have reached your BlackBerry handset and is considered to be more of an accessory. A lot of people in the business industry will benefit much from this especially during meetings or other times when constant looking at your cellphone display would leave a bad impression.
