France, to pursue investigation on exploding iPhones

iphone-explode.JPG

Lately, we have been hearing a lot of issues about iPhones but the most disturbing ones are the news about consumers getting injured from their exploding iPhones. On one of our previous articles, we have mentioned that France is planning to set an investigation for these incidences to know what causes this. Finally, Apple faces an official investigation over the the possible risks that consumers may suffer from their famous smartphone. All in all, there had been about half a dozen claims from consumers in France alone. Recent ones involve an 80 year-old Rolland Caufman who claims that his iPhone started vibrating and the screen suddenly cracked while he was shopping and a 26 year-old security guard, Yassine Bouhadi who suffered an eye injury when his iPhone suddenly shattered. Apple on the other hand remains silent and stated “Until we have the full details, we don’t have anything further to add.” Oh well…

Spotify for iPhone

spotify-iphone-rm-eng.jpg

Any of you out there that wants to steer away from itunes? Dont want to be downloading and wasting space on your phone filling it up with songs and not enough for pictures? Well Spotify could just be the answer to your mobile music jukebox problems. This cool new app for the iPhone is an streaming application where you can just search for your favourite songs in real time. However, what happens when there is no cellular data transfer in range or no WiFi? Well fear not radio heads, Spotify downloads a playlist ahead of time so that you can listen to it even when there is no network coverage. Now normally you’d think that an app like this would never get past Apples filtering system of what apps gets the seal of approval. But this has, and at the cost of £9.99 ($16.20) per month subscription. But the catch is that its only available to certain countries in Europe at the moment, with America in the pipeline for later in the year.

Blackberry tends to cause people to be workaholics

blackberry.JPG

According to the recent survey made among 600 British white-collar workers, people using Blackberry handsets tend to carry their work at home and basically anywhere they go since they are able to reply on urgent e-mails adding another 15 hours of  extra work a week. This can be considered as an advantage for those who are always on-the-go but on the other hand, it could have an impact on your health due to stress caused by less hours of rest. According to Employment Law firm Peninsula, working week was now extended to around 5 hours to avoid breaching working time regulations.

Nokia announced 5230 full touch with GPS and 3G

n5230.JPG

Next in line for Nokia’s touchscreen venture in the express music line up is the newly announced Nokia 5230. It is said to have the benefit of 3G and GPS Navigation. The look is somehow inspired by Nokia 5800 although in terms of picture quality, its camera is only 2 megapixels as opposed to its counterpart, the Nokia 5800 which has a 3.2 megapixel camera. Another downside is it doesn’t have the WiFi capability which could most probably drop its price considerably. Some of its other features include a support for 3G, FM, a 3.5mm jack, microSD slot and a 3.2 inch touchscreen. Another set of features of the 5230 that most people might get hookep up to are Ovi Maps and social networking such as facebook, myspace and youtube. One can choose from its many colors such as red, pink, blue, yellow, silver and dark silver.
