Nokia S60 Widgets Now Context Aware

Nokia has announced new version of its Widget WRT platform for S60 that will allow context sensitive widgets to access location information and services through GPS.

The new Web Run Time platform envisages widgets that can give weather forecasts for the users current location without the need to enter the information, it will create widgets that can download flight information and set alarm reminders and provide updates of any changes in a flights status.

Great leap forward for business users in particular and bound to create consumer bonds with their environment and locality.

In a week full of announcements including two Nokia XpressMusic handsets and the Sony Ericsson G502, the LG Secret camera phone still manages to draw attention for its feature friendly offerings.

Made of high tech materials, Neon Touch Navigation buttons, auto-rotating display, large QVGA 2.4-inch 262K color TFT display, HSDPA 3.6Mbps, Bluetooth, 100MB built-in memory expandable with the MicroSD memory card slot and FM radio with RDS and DivX playback, the LG KF750 is unlikely to be a secret for long.

iPhone SDK Beta 4 Out, v2 Video Leaked

Apple has released Beta 4 of its iPhone SDK which includes OpenGL ES support in the SDK’s emulator enabling 3D acceleration testing whilst leaked video shows promise of v2.0 firmware.


The update allows developers access also Xcode IDE, Interface Builder, Instruments, frameworks and samples, compilers, and Shark analysis tool. all of which together makes for easy testing for those exciting games which are just beyond the horizon.

Early shots of the iPhone 2.0 firmware give an indication of what we can expect in just over a month and for a closer look check out the video below.
