iPhone Shortage Screwup, Not 3G Invasion

Waiting for an iPhone? Join the Queue

The marked shortage of Apple iPhones stateside has been marked as the for-bare of a forthcoming roll-out of the much awaited 3G iPhone, but Apple has put pay to these rumors saying they, well, just kinda screwed up.

“We are working to replenish iPhone supplies as quickly as we can,” Apple’s Steve Dowling commented. “Our stores continue to receive shipments almost every day.”

So the question is how is it that Apple have so severely underestimated demand for the ever present smartphone?

The reasons are manifold: free and easy to use unlock solutions such as iLiberty and Ziphone have made unlocking possible for individuals with limited expertise, the rise of WiFi hotspot usage coupled with iPhone’s superior browser make it the perfect tool to take advantage of often free internet access, the iPhone is relatively cheap in emerging markets compared to competitors even more so with the falling US dollar and in addition limited compatibility issues make the iPhone the perfect candidate for international usage working on GSM networks worldwide which are utilized by 2 billion people globally.

It looks as though we may just have to wait a little longer than anticipated for the eagerly anticipated 3G iPhone juggernaut.
