Samsung Instinct iPhone Killer

Samsung Instinct

While claiming to be an iPhone killer is nothing new, the Samsung Instinct 3.1 ” screen, haptic feedback and three navigation keys rings a few bells.

Samsung has denied that the Instinct was developed in response to the iPhone but in reality all we really care about is the usability and feature mix - which the Instinct claims to have just so.

Featuring EV-DO Rev A and GPS and with Sprint throwing in Sprint Music Store, Navigation, TV, Visual Voicemail and a full HTML web browser as well as having a customizable home-screen…so it just comes down to the browser now.

We’ll keep you posted.

Apple to Buy Motorolas Phone Division

Applemoto Logo

Speculators have named various purchasers of Motorola’s struggling cell phone division but there may be a winner: Apple.

In the face of declining market share and profits Motorola has been looking for suitors for its ailing wing and it seems the attraction for Apple comes in the form of the recently inked agreement between Motorola and Kodak, allowing Apple access to next-gen camera’s with large picture sensors and autofocus on their next wave of iPhones.

Exciting news for iPhone lovers to be sure but WinMo will no doubt be less than pleased to see the manufacturer that produces their high-selling business smartphone the Q8 go the way of their rival Mac OSX.

The first of the ventures between Apple and Motorola will follow in this mode, the iMoto’s microsite is expected online next week at www.apple.com/iMoto.

Consumers have lost another manufacturer, and Motorola fans may shed a tear to learn that the Z10 may be the last phone to carry the Motorola logo.

Good news or bad news for the cellphone market?
