For all his bluster yesterday, it seems Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen has misjudged their ability to deliver Flash around the iPhone SDK’s multitude of restrictions.
One suspects a developer or two lent the CEO their thoughts as he took a more moderate tone today as to prospects of the client saying “…to bring the full capabilities of Flash to the iPhone Web-browsing experience we do need to work with Apple beyond and above what is available through the SDK and the current license around it.”
Will Apple give Adobe an access all areas pass? Will Adobe’s task prove too great? We love Flash, we love the iPhone but will the twain ever meet?

Having already rolled out their home screen search for S60 devices, Google has now invited WnMo users to the party.
The home screen search is claimed to be 40% faster and increase search volume by 20% with the plug-in allowing users to avoid initial steps such as finding and starting the browser and navigating to Google’s site to enter a query.
The plug-in has been enjoyed by BlackBerry users since December and S60 users for a month, so what are you waiting for HTC and O2 owners? Get searching.

Words like subprime, Bear Stearns and capital ‘R’ Recession are being whispered around the water cooler but there’s fresh reason to worry about consumer confidence in the US of A according to research from Changewave.
With little expectation of improved economic conditions, consumers look to be steeling themselves or a would-be recession with the biggest dip in confidence since 2002. Surveyed 18-25 year olds where investigated with regards to electronic gadgets and 19% of respondents indicated they would purchase more in the coming 90 days in comparison to 33% who would spend less, a huge blow for the retail and electronics sectors.
Among the 4,427 consumers surveyed in February the hardest hit products were LCD TV’s (down 4pts), digital cameras (down 4 pts) and cell phones (down 6pts).
Rocky times ahead for electronics manufacturers and distributors?

If your thirst for news on the forthcoming
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is insatiable as mine you may want to take a big ol’ swig of the just released White Paper from SE.
The paper spells out a few of the features we can expect from the forthcoming model including: pre-loaded XPERIA panels featuring weather, finance etc, DLNA-compatible media sharing via ActiveSync or WiFi, video recording options (30fps MPEG-4 and30fps H.263, both VGA), and word that the only bundled browser will be Internet Explorer.
The paper also mentions Java ME and Google Maps and Exchange Direct Email by default, with wizards for Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.
One possible let down is the conspicuous absence of support for 1700Mhz, but with this array of crowd pleasers, there’s little doubt that the whispered mentions of the X1 will soon become a roar.
Download the Sony Ericsson White Paper from here.
