So you’re chatting to that girl from Friday night everything is going great, your making jokes she’s laughing - your life is a musical. Then it happens. Without warning the phone that was fully charged this morning goes limp. Dead. No battery life, no signal, no Friday girl.
This doesn’t have to be the way.
Here are some tips to expand the life of your cell phone battery and your cell phone:
1. I don’t care if you were trained by the Nomadic Gypsies or Cirque du Soleil juggling your phone is a bad idea. Dropping your phone on a hard surface, or at all, can cause damage to your phone and cell phone battery. If you have dropped your phone take it to your nearest service center and consider bypassing the Trapeze.
2. I know you’re busy - what with Friday girl, your assistant and lion-taming and what not, but take the time to read the manufacturer’s directions. Be sure to follow the first charge instructions most importantly.
3. When fire-walking consider leaving your phone with your lovely assistant. Avoid extreme temperatures, hot or cold, be it flaming hoops or leaving the phone in your car in the dead of winter. Also any moisture may corrode your phone quickly.
4. If you must take your battery out of your phone avoid contact with metal objects such as keys, coins or throwing knives, these will interfere with your battery’s ability to function.
5. You wouldn’t use Nike Jordan’s when doing the higher and likewise you should only use the exact cell phone charges that are compatible with your exact cell phone.
6. Give to a stranger. I know its counter-intuitive, but many companies will recycle or reuse your cell phone, most times even giving you a credit toward the purchase of your new phone. Some even give the phones to charitable organizations so why not give back to your adoring public.
7. While you and Friday girl may have a good month of furtive phone calls and late night hook-ups, your phone is a major commitment both financially and in terms of time. It is likely to last 2 years or more and though you may go dutch on dinner, when it comes to buying your phone don’t skimp.
