Sony Ericsson CyberShot SO905iCS Phone

Sony Cybershot SO905iCS Phone

If you have long since decided to carry a camera phone rather than 2 devices you, like me, have probably just become accustomed to the lower quality images. But that’s the way it is right? Wrong.

The new Sony Ericsson CyberShot SO905iCS features a 5 megapixel camera with Exmor CMOS sensor, LED flash, and 3x optical zoom lens and a huge 2.7-inch WVGA LCD. All this and it measures 113×50x24mm and weighs 145g.

This photography based handset is one of the best camera cell phones to date and will give pause for thought to those LG Viewty and Nokia N95 fanboys smugly point and shooting their way to quality images, misus the SO905iCS’s smile shutter mode technology and face detection of course.

Android and Dell Sitting In a Tree

Alienware Dell gPhone Image

You would be forgiven for half expected Sigourney Weaver to drive through this concept phone on a forklift, sparks flying, but no such fireworks are expected of the Android/Dell collaboration.

The Alienware mockup is purely theoretical and not the product of either company but gives speculators a ballpark of where the much touted Dell Android powered phone may end up, considering that Dell is the owner of Alienware.
There has been much expectation surrounding the Android gPhones with hope they may just be good enough to wreste Apple iPhone from its lofty pedestal.

Here’s hoping that this artists impressions does the two companies offspring a disservice, but it does have Google’s eyes.

TMobile ATT Verizon Sprint All Unlimited

Unlimited Phone Packages Providers

American phone companies have gone unlimited car-azy and T-Mobile is the latest to join in the “me too” free for all of unlimited voice and data packages joining AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

Sprint made the first announcement on February 6th, an all-inclusive deal at $119/month. On Feb 18th Verizon joined them with all together more complicated unlimited deal. Not to be outdone AT&T joined the tug-of-war on Feb 19th announcing unlimited voice at $99 and unlimited data at $35.

One could be forgiven for thinking they have been milking us for years.

No doubt Blackberry, HTC and smartphone users will be suitably impressed at the change not to mention Second Lifers whose 3G consumption may have just hit the roof.

T-Mobiles inclusive plan is $100/ month and is available from February 21. Now there’s no excuse for not calling your mother.

NASA Mobile Network on Moon

Astronaut With 80’s Cellphone
When you’re a Moon colonist it can get a bit lonely. Thankfully come 2012 you will be able to make mobile phone calls using 80’s technology, say what?

NASA and the British National Space Centre (BNSC) have joined forces for a planned mobile phone network on the South Pole of the Moon. The project to be called MoonLite will apparently be launched in 2012 and allow Moon colonists to communicate with each other on networks using similar technology to satellite phone networks used in the 80’s and 90’s.

The technology will mainly be utilized for communication between Astronauts and Robots charting the Moon’s surface and will be fully up and running in 2020. Along with a million Earth to…, Houston and can you hear me now jokes one imagines.

Chute Smartphone Made From Bamboo

Chute Bamboo Smartphone Official Images

Those of you old enough to remember the late 70’s may well see this eco-friendly wood veneer smartphone as a mixed blessing.

Following on from a spate of recent green intiatives such as the water fueled phone and evidence that everything is new again the Bamboo based body has more than a few things going for it: it’s light, biodegradable, the fastest growing plant on earth, recyclable and gives you a chance to pull out a few Travolta moves sans irony.

All you snake-hipped youngsters may do well to learn a few lesson or two from our erstwhile young friend here. The phone or Travolta, the choice is yours.
